Three. The number of times I cried on the way home when we picked up the newest addition to our family. Three times and we weren’t even 15minutes in the car. I’m not ashamed. haha. I couldn’t help myself. Of course they were tears of joy and happiness-afterall, a 7 week wait to pick up our miniature goldendoodle felt like a lifetime! I’m so grateful that Doodle Country’s owners invited us to visit her anytime. I would have taken up that offer and stopped by for puppy cuddles every day if I weren’t three hours away! The last three weeks after we visited her seemed like the longest three weeks of my life.
Everyone, please welcome Winnie the Pooh, aka “Winnie”. She is a miniature goldendoodle F1 female pup from Margo and Maverick’s litter from Doodle Country. This little love bug was born on December 31, 2015. I can’t say thank you enough to Dennis & Angie from Doodle Country. They were fabulous to work with and I totally recommend them!
I’m literally OBSESSED with her. I find myself staring at her and smiling all day long. Then I feel my eyes well up again with tears of happiness and that’s how I know I’m the luckiest girl in the world.
Cesar (my 16 year old lab/husky mix) and Winnie couldn’t have had a better first meeting. As a matter of fact, we couldn’t have asked for a better day either! It was 60 degrees and sunny outside when we got home, so Tony and I opted to take them both for a little walk around the block to get to know each other before bringing her into our home. At first, Cesar didn’t even notice Winnie in Tony’s arms as he rounded the corner and walked towards us. We continued along down the street and around another corned then decided to let Winnie down to do some walking herself. Cesar pranced over, tail wagging and after a couple big sniffs, decided we needed to keep the walk going. Of course Winnie is too little to want to go for a walk around the block-so she sat down and gave us a little cry and we carried her the rest of the way. 🙂 We let them sniff each other a little more as we got closer to home, then walked them both into the house like nothing was wrong or different. They did some running around and smelling each other when we decided it was such a nice day out that we should let them play in the yard for a bit. BEST IDEA EVER! They pranced around and played ball for a bit before laying down in the grass next to Tony and myself to do some sun bathing.
Today I decided to take some photos of Winnie because, well, she won’t stay under 5 pounds for long. Fair warning-you may want a mini goldendoodle after viewing these. Not my fault. <3
In love with this puppy photoshoot!! We just got a havapoo and she turned eight weeks this Wednesday and I’ve been dying to recreate this with my own puppy! I was wondering where you got the cute giraffe toy??
Thank you Tina! That is so sweet of you! Oooh! Please do share when you’ve done your puppy newborn shoot–I’d love to see! The giraffe stuffed animal was actually purchased at a Target store. I believe they still sell it as I’ve seen it at the store in past months. 😉
